Research Strategist

Common Cause Consultants

2020-Present

As a racial equity and justice-focused firm, we work between communities, nonprofits, and foundations to strategize about how to build a better Pittsburgh for all residents. Through research, outreach, and deep listening, I help to design solutions that are community and people-centered, and that uplift those who have been traditionally the most marginalized.

Researcher

University of Pittsburgh

2017-2020

By analyzing human exhibits in the context of late nineteenth-century Paris, my research demonstrates that architecture was a key tool that architects, anthropologists, and colonial officials used to visualize notions of racial difference.

Instructor

Carnegie Museum of Art Pittsburgh PA

2019-2020

I taught the long nineteenth-century section of the CMOA Crash Course, the mandatory coursework for docents-in-training. My sections focus on Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism, as well as the birth and legacy of Impressionism. In addition, I train experienced docents in preparation for the exhibition "Monet and the Modern City."

Instructor

University of Pittsburgh

2013-2018

In my early graduate school career, I was the go-to Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Western Architecture and Modern Architecture. As my teaching skills developed, I had the opportunity to teach Architecture: Image, Text, Theory, an upper-level writing-intensive course for Architectural Studies majors.
